Dunes, Woodlawn Beach: Limited Edition Giclee Print
This is a signed limited-edition giclee print of a plein air illusion I created of the dunes at Woodlawn Beach, Hamburg, NY. These dunes importantly protect the Lake Erie landscape from erosion caused by harsh weather conditions. I was inspired by how delicate they are, not only in form but in color, despite their important role in the ecosystem. The illusion process was posted on social media on December 23rd, 2024.
This is a limited-edition print, which means there will only be 60 like this printed. The prints are numbered 1 through 60. Each print is personally editioned (signed, titled, and numbered) and shipped by me. It was made with archival inks on acid-free, archival-quality fine art paper. This ensures the best longevity for the art print.

These dunes are made up of American Dune Grass, which stabilizes and protects Lake Erie from erosion and damage caused by the unstable microclimate (like lake-effect snow). These grasses have been around since ancient times, not long after the lakes were shaped by glacial activity. Their roots anchor the loose sand, forming networks, or mats, that help hold everything in place. Dune grasses are crucial worldwide and require care, as they're delicate and can easily decline under human impact.
