Broken Pine, 18 Mile Creek: Framed Plein Air Color Match Illusion
This painting of a resilient broken pine at Eighteen Mile Creek, Hamburg. Perched on the gorge’s edge, I painted this as an illusion, blending in with the pine tree and trees across gorge. Varnished and ready to hang, it comes with a Certificate of Authenticity and will be carefully packed for safe shipping.
Engaging Art Process Videos: The illusion process was posted on social media on September 19th, 2024. Scroll down to see the full process video as well as a brief process lapse. View additional shortform content on my social media channels.
Location: Eighteen Mile Creek in Hamburg, NY, boasts a picturesque deep gorge, treasured by nature enthusiasts. Fed by smaller tributaries and groundwater sources, the creek serves as a vital ecosystem. While I painted, a number of animals stopped by, including chipmunks and vibrantly healthy birds, reflecting the area’s rich biodiversity. This natural haven is not only a sanctuary for wildlife but also plays an important role in maintaining environmental balance, offering clean water and habitats for a variety of species.
Key Features:
Original varnished plein air oil painting (3.3” x 2.3”) on archival Bristol board
Black frame (6.5” x 5”) custom-built for the piece
Mounted with archival (non-damaging) methods on archival double matting
Museum glass provides UV protection while offering clear, glare-free viewing
Ready to hang (wired) and certificate of authenticity included
