Oil-painted Quarter Necklace: Grazing Bison at North Dakota Badlands

$125.00
Sold Out

This necklace features a tiny oil painting of the North Dakota Badlands with a pair of grazing American bison. The sunset is an array of colors: dark purple, yellows, and blues. The bison graze in the foreground. In the background, we see the rugged buttes and canyons that symbolize the State’s Badlands region.

I’ve been developing my micro-painting skills for the last several years. I love painting quarters because they are small and travel around the world.

I’ve been updating the design and materials of my quarter necklaces for the last several years, and I’m confident that you’ll enjoy the quality of this piece. I painted many fine details onto the small space. And the chain and bezel are sturdy.

BISON FACTS:
The American bison is North America’s largest land animal and the national mammal of the U.S. It was nearly driven to extinction by habitat loss and hunting. An estimated 30 to 60 million bison roamed North America until the late 1800s, when bison numbers dwindled to fewer than 1,000. (Source: National Bison Association.)

Thanks to conservation efforts, the bison's numbers are now stable, and it is no longer endangered. Today, about 30,000 bison live in conservation-focused herds throughout North America. Another 400,000 or so are raised as livestock on ranches and farms. (Source: Treehugger.com.)

DETAILS:
North Dakota circulated quarter.
Chain is made of gold-plated iron; is dainty, shiny and sturdy; lobster claw clasp (closes securely; isn’t flimsy).
Bail is gold-plated. Bezel is gold-toned.
Oil paint and glossy resin-based varnish to protect painting.

DIMENSIONS:
1 inch wide (a quarter is nearly 1 inch in diameter).
The bezel makes the height 1 3/8 inches.
The necklace length is 18 inches.

I’m certain you’ll be pleased with the quality of this product. I currently offer shipping to the United States, Canada, the UK, and Australia. If you need shipping to any additional countries, please let me know so I can expand my shipping options.

If you have any questions, please message me. :)
